The 1931 Bugatti Type 51 Blue Racer model is completely hand-built & handcrafted of recycled aluminum. The seat is made of faux leather. The spoked wheels are aluminum and the tires are made of rubber. The Grand Prix race car model has a baby blue painted finish.The model is packaged in an AM gift box, no gift wrapping required. It is sure to become a conversational addition to your office or home decor.The original Bugatti Type 51 emerged in 1931. Its engine was a 160 hp (119 kW) twin overhead cam evolution of the supercharged 2.3 L (2262 cc/138 in³) single overhead cam straight-8 found in the Type 35B. A victory in the 1931 French Grand Prix was a rare case of success for the line. About 40 examples of Type 51 and 51A were produced. The Bugatti Type 51 driven to victory in the 1933 Monaco Grand Prix by Achille Varzi is an archetypal image of the early days of motor racing. Inspired by that car, we have created a handsome model to represent the era, which can also be appreciated by those loyal to other teams.
