British Blue Basketweave Sugar Bowl with Twigs & Holly 4.25"H x 4.5"W 19th C?
Believed to be 19th Century, but unable to verify. Mark on base is Z, which should mean end of 19th Century. Good overall condition with a few small chips in the lid.
From a very similar item found online:An English Majolica teapot, from the Staffordshire region, maker unknown, circa 1860-1880.
In remarkable condition, the pouch shaped body shows a basketweave pattern glazed in a washed ultramarine blue overlayed with leafy sprigs of wild roses colored in a deep pink. The handle and the top handle on the corresponding lid, also showing wild roses, are formed as brown branches. The spout is also formed as a branch. The interiors of the kettle are glazed in pink.
