Iridescent CalciteKeokukGeode closed geode dimensions: 2-1/2in X 2-1/4 in X 2-1/4 in weight: 7.2 oz This is the largest Iridescent Brown Calcite Keokuk geode I have posted in quite a while. It was my favorite find out of a recent geode dig of three an a half buckets full of geodes. The brown calcite crystals lining its cavity are pseudocubic, and have ingested the iron mineral goethite making them brown and iridescent, reflecting green hues off of its lustrous crystals\' faces. A later growth of equally lustrous clear rhombic calcite crystals formed atop the brown making adding to its crystalline beauty. This exquisite geode was found in Adams County, Illinois. I specialize in top quality, mineralized Midwestern USA Geodes.
