3" High ~ Bottom marked Made in Philippines Fine Bone China.Excellent Condition.Because of MorganCity's strategic marine location, the town of Brashear played a prominent rolein the war between the states. Brashear was occupied by Federal troops for overthree years. It was in Morgan City that the Union troops planned thedestruction of the Avery Island salt mines, the cutting off of Rebel supplylines from Texas, the capture of Texas to restore her to the Union, and theannihilation of all Confederate resistance in southwest Louisiana. The remainsof Fort Starr, a Union fort, are still visible.
