New in Box, Blessings Oblate Sisters of Providence Dark Skin Nun Doll. She stands 19\" tall. Founded by Father James Joubert and Mother Mary Elizabeth Lange on July 2, 1829, in Baltimore, Maryland. In the lower chapel of St. Mary\'s Seminary. Fr. Joubert taught catechism to the children of African heritage. He found this a difficult task when faced with underprivileged children would could not read or write. They inspired him to organize a school and congregation of women devoted to teaching. This nun doll is in honor of the Oblate sisters who became teachers of the underprivileged. She comes in the box, I have pulled her out to take pictures of all her features. She has been in the box since 1999, so she doesn\'t have any condition issues. She is in mint condition. I will ship this boxed nun inside another box, that is thicker therefore less susceptible to damage during shipping.
