Stunning and vibrant AMERICAN PATRIOTIC hand pieced and quilted 84 in. square cotton quilt with batting and vibrant colors in red, white and blue. Most probably a bicentennial era pieced quilt and a great opportunity to add a splendid Patriotic Quilt to your collection and/or home for use as a wall hanging or given it\'s ample size as a splendid bed covering. Fresh from an estate collection and offered here for the first time anywhere.

. A hand-pieced cotton quilt consisting of 16 blocks with quilting and trimmed in a border of red and blue with quilted 5 point stars, the various blocks appear to be deliberately alternating in patterns reminiscent of rockets and stars and stripes.

Patriotic quilts are a category unto themselves in quilting and collecting quilts - and are wonderful pieces of Americana and History and usually produced during periods of strong American Patriotism - i.e. during and soon after wars both here and abroad and fine examples, such as the one we offer - are strongly collected and acquired.

A note on condition: generally near fine, no smells, and just the slightest bit of color fade in a few areas and in one area a small bit of fabric edge in one of the blocks is loose. The quilting is strong throughout.
