These displays are beautiful! This is a Beautiful glass dome display showcasing a REAL butterfly! It is surrounded by preserved foliage, bark, faux rocks, flowers and lichen with a real snail, real cicada shell and and a real lady bug. This a wonderful piece for any room and a great gift! Species: Polyura athamasPolyura athamas, the common nawab, is a species of fast-flying canopy butterfly found in tropical Asia. It belongs to the Charaxinae (rajahs and nawabs) in the brush-footed butterfly family (Nymphalidae).
It occurs in the Himalayas from Kashmir to Sikkim, the hills of central India and the Eastern Ghats, the Western Ghats and southern India, Sri Lanka, Assam, Cachar, and via Myanmar, Cambodia and the Tenasserim Hills far into Indonesia. In August 2016 a specimen was spotted and caught in Palawan, Philippines.
Butterflies are loved by all and are one of our very favorite insects. They do not sting or bite which makes them even more popular! This butterfly has been showcased in a glass dome so it can be enjoyed for years to come and stay safe and clean. These make wonderful gifts and are so beautiful most anyone receiving would be thrilled to have one!
NOTE: If your item is in a glass dome please be aware that the domes are NOT permanently connected to the base. Care has to be taken when opening or removing the dome so not to damage the display or specimen.

Wings and other small parts are easily fixable and you should be aware that you may have to fix (glue) a part when purchasing items like these.These are natural specimens and can contain a flaw or two like a shorter antenna or broken or missing leg. We do our best to make sure they are close to perfect but a few might get by us although usually the flaw is minor and something that does not deflect from the beauty of the insect itself.If there is a major problem I will take care of the matter. I rarely have a problem but even with good packaging it is impossible for us to Guarantee that specimens will arrive totally intact although I have had very few problems to date. If you pay for Priority mail your items will be covered by postal insurance which will cover any damage in shipping-First class does not cover damage as it is not insured. The post office does now require you to bring the item in for inspection to receive postal insurance payouts.
