Found by a diver in 25 feet of water, Mascarena Basin, the Philippines. You know, the other murex that always comes to mind as being special, (besides the venus comb, wow!) is this murex, the zamboi. I remember dealers showing the shell to my mom when we were in the Philippines, and always, the dealer treated the shell as something special. And I imagine one of the reasons why everyone was so taken with the shell was, it had just been named! That\'s right, we were in the Philippines in the mid-60\'s, an exciting time to be a shell collector!. Anyhow, this is another incredible beauty from the Philippines, andthis fabulous near-GEM is, as the video shows, a very nice, rare, long-spined beauty that will look fantastic sitting on your shelf!
