This Ulysses S. Grant postal card-- measuring approximately 6 x 3.7 inches-- is an outreach from G. R. Wiley, the Clerk of BETHEL DARYING CO., regarding a meeting for the election of officers in early 1894.
In briefly researching the company, I didn\'t find anything. I wonder if the word \"darying\" could have any relationship to the word \"diary.\"
I did come across something that referred to G. R. Wiley, as being one Goodwin Robert Wiley (1846-1911) who was a druggist, or pharmacist, in Bethel, Maine.
This postal card was postmarked on January 3, of 1894 in Bethel, Maryland, and sent locally there to Mr. G. A. Plaisted, a reference to George Augustus Plaisted (1845-1901), who was buried in Riverside Cemetery there in Bethel, ME.
After the years the item may show some typical wear, most noticeable a cut out triangle along the top edge.
