BEAUTIFUL COALPORT COBALT WHITE CUP & SAUCER, BUGS, INSECTS, BIRDS, 9247, CAIRO:

Maker and age: This beautiful and elegant cup and saucer by England's renowned Coalport company is a slight mismatch: the pattern name Cairo appears on the saucer and the pattern number 9247 appears on the base of the cup. The patterns - both in the same rich cobalt blue - are very compatible together but they are not the same.
Design: The Cairo pattern features a delightful design of bugs, birds and leaves against a pure white background. The 9247 pattern features complementary leaves and branches but no birds and bugs.
Condition: Both pieces are in excellent condition with no marks, nicks, chips, cracks, scratches or stains. The gold trim is entirely intact.
Size: The saucer is 5 3/4 inches wide. The cup is 4 inches wide at the opening and 2 1/8 inches high.
Despite the mismatch, this lovely set would be a fine addition to any collection of fine cups and saucers.
