Taken from an antique photo album of McDermott family photos, mostly from the Mansfield, Ohio area. Included in the album was a letter of genealogical research done in 1978, which I used as a clue to identify this couple, along with old newspaper research from the time period. I can include a copy of the letter for your records if you so choose. My best deduction is that this is a son of James Bell McDermott, who moved to the area from Richland County, Ohio in the 1850's. Based on the photographer, I would date this photo to the early to mid 1880's. We have other cabinet photos, CDV's, tintypes, and snapshots in our store under the Vintage Photographs category!
