STERLING RABBIT PINCUSHION

Available for purchase is a figural sterling pincushion crafted by designer Ari D. Norman in London England. This interesting novelty piece depicts a crouching rabbit with a blue velvet cushion on top of the back. It\'s rather small in size (see photo next to C size battery), measuring about 2 5/8\" long, 1\" wide and 1 1/2\" tall. The right side of the back is hallmarked but it\'s very hard to read (and even more difficult to photograph). With a hand lens, I see the initials \"AN\" in a shield, the lion mark that designates sterling, a leopard head (city mark for London), and a date letter that I believe is an \"O\" (for 1988). Next to the hallmark is another indistinguishable mark and \"925\". This pieceweighs about 1.825 ounces (51.7 g) on my jeweler scale.Handcrafted by Ari D. Norman\'s skilled artisan team, the rabbit has an oxidized antique finish to emphasize the design details. Rabbits symbolize fertility, abundance, vigilance, good luck, and fortune. Whether you choose to give this pincushion as a gift or keep it for yourself, it is a perfect needle work tool for a sewist or a unique collectible.
