Very rare find and offered just as it was found. This piece was recovered from the boiler room of a building that opened in 1917. The first group of photos shows it as it currently is mounted; the second set of photos shows it loose on the day it was removed from its original installation.

I did a fair amount of research and it seems Johnson was something of a pioneer in the temperature control business. The company must have produced a good assembly since this particular model was in continuous service until mid 2023.

If you\'re a collector of anything steam or even general plumbing, this is the centerpiece you\'ve been looking for.

The slate plate measures 18 inches wide and 21 inches high. Thickness of one inch. The air pressure gauge, made by Jas P Marsh, measures 5 7/8 inches in diameter and 2 inches \"thick\" from the slate plate. The Johnson plaque is 7 1/4 inches wide and 4 1/2 inches high. Each of the 5 control levers are 3 1/2 inches wide and the identifier slots below still feature the original paper labels designation which portion of the building they control. The levers, air gauge bezel and brand plaque are all metal but I\'m unsure of what type.

The plate mounts with a simple bracket system, capped by acorn nuts. When installed, the front face of the plate is 5 inches out from the wall, meaning the air gauge is at 7 inches.

The pipes that ran between the boiler and this plate have been unbolted where possible and others were simply cut off. It seems unlikely anybody would want to put this back into service but with a little work it likely could be.

Item weight is 52 pounds and given the size, shipping will be very costly. I\'m going to charge a flat $40 and will cover the remainder. All reasonable offers will be considered. If you\'re interested, feel free to submit one.
