Antique c.1891 Coiffe Limoges Plate~Pink Morning Glories by Elite Works c.1896:

This is a lovely antique plate made of fine Limoges porcelain from France. The green backstamp, under the glaze, of the star with the word Limoges inside it and FRANCE printed under it, was used by the porcelain manufacturer Coiffe et Cie which was established in 1872 in Paris. They were known for their high quality tableware. This particular backstamp was used from 1891 to 1914.

On top of the glaze is the red decorator backstamp from the porcelain decorator in Limoges called The Elite Works. They were established by the New York company called Bawo & Dotter to import decorated porcelain to America directly from Limoges France. This particular backstamp was used between 1896-1900.

The plate is round with scalloped edges and an intricate design impresses I the porcelain that is highlighted with gold. It is 8 inches in diameter and is decorated with lovely pink morning glories against a pale fade green background. Very delicate and pretty flowers. A real piece of art!

The plate and the decoration itself is in excellent antique condition. There is little wear to the design, maybe a spot of wear here and there, and no cracks, crazing or chips on the porcelain, and very little wear to the gold. I also ran my fingers along the intricate edge and felt no roughness or chips there.
