One of a Kind! 

Antique Poor Boy Oil Company Hand painted Porcelain Plate.  This plate is likely from the early 1900's to the 1920's during the early days of the east Texas Oil Boom.It probably represents one of the hundreds (or even thousands) of independent producers from that period.It is crudely decorated with a gold rim and a hand painted depiction of a roughneck (or the owner) servicing a pump jack.

The exact origins of this plate are unknown, but it is from an estate that was located close to the Beaumont/Spindletop fields as well the fields near Sour Lake and West Columbia, definitely East Texas. 

A very cute and nostalgic piece one of a kind piece of Texas Oil and Gas Production History. 

Would look great hanging on an office wall or on a plate stand in a bookcase.

The plate itself is somewhat dirty and has not been cleaned since the amount of dirt and staining (and probably nicotine) help to determine its age.
