Up for your consideration is a very rare antique set of railroad worker safety googles with original green glass lens and metal mesh surrounds. The mesh was to keep the soot and coal dust out. The green lens to tame the bright flames.

Original tin case with lid

Some date similar pairs to these back to the Civil War but I think they are probably later research may vary

They no longer have the cord but an old thin shoestring would probably play the part.  All 4 holes are still intact
