This great little jar is anantique, ceramic, under-the-glaze transferred ointment pot which was commonlyused in Victorian times as a "cure-all" for all kind of maladies, andbecame extremely popular. The good doctor (Dr. Roberts) whose nameis associated with it, made his town, Bridport, in England, famous. The "Poor Man's Friend" was exported all over the world including the USA from aroundthe mid 1800's to the early 1900's. The pot is in pretty good shape. The pot stands about 1 1/2"tall and measures 1 3/4" diameter.
