Up for sale is a wonderful antique patchwork quilt top. The design/pattern is four patch. The fabrics are cotton and cotton/silk blend. The navy blue fabric has a wonderful slightly silk feel to it.
From the mid to late 1800’s era.
This quilt top was once a full quilt, hand stitched, that has been taken apart.
The fabrics are calico prints, dots, early calico prints. The colors are red, navy blue, off white, yellow, cheddar, brown, rust.
Some of the red fabrics have faded to a rusty red (especially around the edges.)
Nice big navy blue fabric border - 5 1/2” wide.
There are a few stains, not many. I did not find any holes. I did not find any pull outs. You can see some of the original hand stitching from the original quilt.
Very large. Measures 92” by 92”.
Hand pieced with very small stitches.
Great colors. Great fabrics. Great early prints.

This is a quilt top, not a finished quilt. No batting, no backing.
