Item up for sale is an amazing antique optometrist fitting kit that was found during a recent estate buyout. Item has no maker's mark that we can find. This piece was found with 60 free lenses which are not housed in any sort of frame and come in various sizes and shapes. A few have a tint to them with 9 lenses showing chips of varying degree so new owner should exercise caution handling those. On the opposite of the interior of the case is housed a pair of fitting frames and 92 trial lenses in small metal frames. Item was found in the case shown which shows almost total loss of leather exterior covering with no handle present. Case top shows a dent / depression in the rear left corner. Metal hardware on the case shows tarnish and patina consistent with age and use and could use a polish.Metal fitting frame and metal framing around trial lenses show tarnish and patina consistent with age. Lenses in trial lenses show no cracks or breaks. Glass on lenses all need cleaning and interior velvet shows soiling and patina consistent with age and some wear consistent with use. Item is presented as found so entire piece will need a detail cleaning and arrangement. Box measures 6-1/8" top to bottom by 12-7/8" wide by 9" front to back.
