Antique Meissen porcelain soup bowl by Watteau. Back tag says Dresden 1845-80. Watteau was responsible for inventing the genre of scenes of bucolic and idyllic charm of love in landscapes. I believe this to be a soup bowl with beautiful intricate gold border, There is a crack that I have never noticed and unless in the sunlight I could not have found. The crack is almost undetectable . I tried to capture pictures and even the fingernail was difficult to feel. Price reflected because of this issue. A beautiful lovely plate for display. Weight 1 pound, 9.25\" wide, 1.5\" tall.No chips.
