Antique hand-painted Meissen porcelain plate. Most likely mid 18th century. Gorgeous flower decoration. Such plates used to be an ultimate luxury and thus were painted by highly professional artists. The plate is a unique piece of art.
Crossed swords mark and impressed number 56 on the back. New Ozier pattern border. Deutsche Blumen style flower decoration typical for the time.
Condition: several chips on the front and back rims of the plate. Gold loss and paint loss on multiple spots. Some manufacturing inclusions in the porcelain mass visible on the back rim. Uneven horizontal line from the manufacturing process. See pictures for more details. More pictures can be provided upon request.
Dating of the plate is an individual opinion and is based on the general appearance, uneven horizontal line typical for the manufacturing process of the early porcelain wares (see photos), decoration style, and the character of the crossed sword marks.
