Antique King Ludwig II Bavaria Memorial Lidded Stein Hand Painted w/ Lithophane:

I am pleased to offer this Antique King Ludwig II of Bavaria Memorial Lidded Stein!
This stein is simply stunning!
The piece was hand painted, and has a portrait of King Ludwig II in the center which is flanked by a floral design and a picture of the lake where he was said to have drowned. The top edge has the famous saying "Dem Baijerland starbst du zu fruh, dein treues volk vergikt dich nie." "You died too soon, your faithful people will never forget you" (Loose translation)
The bottom of the stein features a lithophane of Wilhelm I
Measures approx. Diameter 9-3/4" Tall x 4-1/8" Diameter

Condition:

This antique stein is in very good condition, showing minor scratching and some mild dust from display. There is some loss to the gold gilt rings, and some mild scratching to the pewter lid. Thumb bar is missing. The underside of the stein shows some scuffing and few small chips along the edge.
