Antique italian Art Nouveau Enamel Compact 800 Silver with Carved Celluloid Cherub Musicians.The ornate carving is a trio of cherub / angel musicians with the center being Apollo the God of music. It's a very lovely art nouveau style. The marbled cobalt blue enamel is in excellent condition - doesn't look to be worn or missing. The silver etching on the sides and back are deep and clear. It is marked 800 which is for the content of 80 percent silver. The compact has gold washed. It has a sifter that is used but in good condition.There are no dents or dings. Beautiful condition, small hairline in the lower frame of the celluloid carving.The hinge is in perfect condition. The compact closes securely and there are no gaps when closed.
