What an early general store advertising find!! For sale is a large wooden spice box with original lid and paper label advertising. This style box would be found in a general store for the customer to purchase any amount of pepper they needed on that shopping trip. The box and label are in excellent condition as can be seen in the pictures with bright colors and designs. This is estimated to be from the very late 1890\'s time period. The label states it is from Standard Mills to Chryst & Sehl in Syracuse, NY. The bin measures 12 1/2 inches tall with a 10 1/2 inch diameter. Also included is a cardboard sleeve that was placed around the label to protect it in shipment. The label on the sleeve has a date of 1880 and was manufactured by the Novelty Package Company of New York City. The bin and sleeve are included in the price. This spice box would be a quality addition to any vintage advertising collection. Shipping will be expensive due to the size of the box and weight.
