Ultra rare French duck press circa 1890-1900. Cast iron with traces of original nickel plate. For making pressed duck or “canard a la rouennaise”, duck in blood sauce. This example is all original, working and complete. Measures 17 inches tall when closed 13 inches wide at the base. Wheel measures 10 1/2 inches in diameter. Traces of original nickle plating. Marked on the bottom in red paint “France” which indicates it was produced between 1892- 1908. Iron weight. A culinary rarity and must have for any true French chef. Probably the only antique example for sale at a reasonable price on this side of the pond. Very heavy. A fine example in excellent working condition.
