Beautiful Survivor! 1930's Clark Firefly Lighter. Appears to have been well used and owned by a left-handed smoker looking at the wear patterns. A little history on this great piece. I bought a 1910 Farmhouse on 23 acres in 1995. The farm was originally much larger, but the original homestead was separated off to sell. The previous owner of this Dairy Farm was a well-traveled Big game hunter in the 40's and 50's. In the back of a spare room there was an overstuffed couch and chair from the 40's era. While picking up the furniture to move it, this lighter fell out. I can't be certain it was his, but it would make sense after living there for years and finding so many interesting items around the property that were in fact his possessions. During remodels we would make incredible discoveries. Silver coins in the attic, history notes of previous work in the walls, a navigational device from a Japanese sub, complete shark jaws with teeth, there was even parts of a liquor still located in one of the outbuildings where we found a leather cup and dice used to pass time while brewing! LOL! All parts of this great relic are present and operable. There is no flint or fluid in the lighter.
