Antique 6-3/4\" H Tappit Hens Pewter Measure England Touchmark Williams 1865-1900:

• 6.75\" to the top of the lid hammer.
• Marked on the base with 4 symbols, One of which is a griffin from when this company was still in Bristol (They did move to Birmingham during Ernest Williams ownership) and a series of 3 stars with a number 3 underneath for 3 generations into the company. This particular piece was made in the 3rd generation which was Ernest Williams 1865 to 1900. A makers touchmark that is an earlier mark of A.E. Williams Co. (circa to 1779-present day). It is a William and Mary mark with the Tudor Rose & Thistle mark of Queen Anne. These were not struck very well and some are hard to read.
• Age and use wear to include scratches, some small dings in the soft pewter and old dry ink on the interior base.
