Antique 1800’s Etched English Belt Knife ARMY & GENERAL STORES LTD. NOTTINGHAM:

I have a beautifully etched, 1800’s era, English double edged belt knife. The knife is stamped THE ARMY & GENERAL STORES LTD. NOTTINGHAM. The etch reads “Never draw me without reason, nor sheath me without honour “. The double edged carbon steel blade measures 6” long and 7/8” wide. There is some light pitting and staining, but much of the original luster remains. The handle measures 3 7/8” and has a full tang construction . It has a nickel silver guard and crack free jigged bovine bone handles. The sheath is a tube style and does have a couple of cuts (see pictures). I believe the sheath is original to the knife, however the knife fits it loosely. I will provide free insurance.
