Antique 17-1800’s Solid Brass French Lantern Clock By JAPY FREBES, Needs Service.

I have 2 of these rare clocks that are original, not 19th century replicas. Again, this clock is solid brass and heavy, very well designed.

This clock was carried back to America from an antique shop in France roughly 20+ years ago.

I had it serviced about 9 years back and about 3 years ago I heard the spring unwind.

There is no hammer for the chime and never was when I collected it.

These model clocks go back roughly 500 to 600 years.

My clock is rare vs. what’s on due to it operating by jewels. This clock could be older than I say, but I do know it is at least an early 1800’s clock.

The hallmarks with jewels, country of origin, and serial number is clearly stamped in this beautiful clock.
