Beautiful cluster of anglesite crystals on Galena matriax, from an old classic locality, the Monteponi mine in southern Sardinia. This mine has produced the best Phosgenite in the world, but the same lead deposit also did produce some outstanding other mineral species, like Cerussite and Anglesite. This specimen comes formerly from a well known Italian dealership, and is great for the species and locality. The large crystal is almost pristine, save for a tiny nick on the back ternination of the crystal. Still, given the likely age of this specimen, possibly around or before WWII, this seems inconsequential given the overall quality of the specimen. Please look at at the photo\'s to assess for yourself. The Anglesite, BTW, does have a nice yellowish Fluorescence under LW. This specimen is 9 7/8 oz in weight, or 281 grams.
