Amazing Three Page Letter World War II Air Corps Military Ephemera May 18, 1942:

This includes 2 actual pages or leaves but written on three sides about the situation and living conditions at his base in Miami Beach Florida during the 2nd World War, sent by a Soldier in the U.S. Army to his sister in New York.The two leaves each have the official letterhead on top. Which reads \'Air Corps Replacement Training Center 573rd Technical School Squadron (SP), Miami Beeach, Florida.\' It is dated May 18, 1942 written in a very nice hand.
Very interesting is how he references Hitler and Tojo for the Japanese General at the time, calling it a \'a little game\'.This letter was written a little after the events outlined below. The soldier also neatly explains his interesting schedule and how much he is enjoying it in the army. He signs off as \'Hitler\'s Threat, Bennie\'. This letter letter comes free without an original envelope but will be placed in a new one for shipping. The letters are in fine condition and measure 9 x 6 inches.
Hideki Tojo 1884 – 1948 was a Japanese politician, general of the Imperial Japanese Army (IJA), and convicted war criminal who served as prime minister of Japan and president of the Imperial Rule Assistance Association for most of World War II. He assumed several more positions including chief of staff of the Imperial Army before ultimately being removed from power in July 1944. During his years in power, his leadership was marked by extreme state-perpetrated violence in the name of Japanese ultranationalism, much of which he was personally involved in.On the eve of the Second World War\'s expansion into Asia and the Pacific, Tojo was an outspoken advocate for a preemptive attack on the United States and its European allies. Upon being appointed prime minister on October 17, 1941, he oversaw the Empire of Japan\'s decision to go to war as well as its ensuing conquest of much of Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands. During the course of the war, Tojo presided over numerous war crimes, including the massacre and starvation of civilians and prisoners of war.
