Light damp stains as seen - throughout, edge wear, some separation of the covers at the top and bottom along the spine, RARE.The first known book devoted to sweet peas in the United States, located by OCLC in just 5 copies this is number 6. Published by Burpee, the author, of course, promotes the company but also provides instructions on proper cultivation. The Horthistoria website describes the Reverend Hutchins as an avid gardener who kept a beautiful garden in Indian Orchard who, when he found sweet peas, "was enchanted for life."
