The twinfilter design significantly reduces breathing resistance and improves weightdistribution. The filters provide protection from CB agents, toxins, and anumber of Toxic Industrial Materials/Chemicals (TICs/TIMs) such as particulatematter including radioactive hazards, chlorine, hydrogen sulfide, sulfurdioxide and organic vapors with a boiling point above 65°C. n FM61 Filters canbe replaced without breaking the protective seal through self-sealingconnections. DESCRIPTION: Constructionmaterials a) The canister body is made of Noryl, a Polyphenylene ether/polystyrene synthetic thermoplastic polymer. It produces a very robust product,providing extreme durability against shock and impact in operational use. Thecanister body is black in color. b) Gas adsorption is by activated charcoalgranules impregnated with metallic salts of copper, zinc, molybdenum and silverto react chemically with agents such as hydrogen cyanide and cyanogen chloride.Excellent protection is provided against physically adsorbed gases such as thenerve agents (“G” and “V” series), mustard gases, phosgene and chloropicrin(see overleaf). c) The high efficiency particulate filter element is made ofPTFE, PET/PE fibers. d) The FM61 Filter is non-ferrous and non-magnetic. EFFECTIVENESS: Against Chemical andBiological Agents, The protection against many Toxic Industrial Chemicals(TICs) includes, but is not limited to: organic vapors with a boiling pointover 65°C, chlorine, hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, formaldehyde, nitrogendioxide, phosgene, phosphine, hydrogen chloride, hydrogen fluoride, methylamine,and ammonia. This item is considered 'significant military technology' & therefore is subject to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) & may not be shipped outside the United States without prior approval being obtained from the US State Department (Office of Defense Trade Controls).
