AT&T Advertising Items From 1980's & '90's But NEW Salesman Samples -6 Different:
$48.00

I own an advertising specialty company - now in our 45th year I am happy to report - and worked in the industry for many years prior to establishing my own firm. For many years my best client was what was formerly known as "The Bell System". Of course after divestiture, it was broken up into what was generally called the "Baby Bells" - and later morphed into many variations. So over the years we worked very closely with Western Electric, AT&T, Southern Bell, BellSouth, Lucent Technologies, OFS, Avaya, etc. I collected many over-run samples, one-or-a-kind spec samples, and the likes.I am now selling much of that collection via . Here are five over-run samples from orders I sold AT&T in the 1980's - 1990's, and one item that I had my supplier produce, but was unable to sell to AT&T. Hence, it was the only one made. None have ever been used, and are in virtually as new condition. For all of these years they havebeen kept in closed containers in one of our climate controlled sample rooms.
And here is what the fortunate buyer will receive:
A. First the one speculative sample that I was unable to sell to AT&T. In the late 1980's, we had a supplier called "Stone Art". They specialized in manufacturing items from synthetic marble. Their products look, feel and have the weight of marble, but allowed more flexibility in design and manufacture. Here is a desk paperweight that I paid them to make in the hope of selling a quantity to AT&T. The size is 5" x 3" x 1.5", and quite substantial. The front has the AT&T logo etched and color filled in blue. There is a rubberized base.
As mentioned, I was unable to sell this idea to my customer, hence, it was the only one made.
B. Each year, the Atlanta Works held an "Engineer Outing" for those classified as "engineers". A commemorative gift was distributed, and for many years we were fortunate to supply it. For this particularyear, a useful portable AM/FMstereo was the gift of choice. This handsome and compact stereo was manufactured by Unisonic, and made in Taiwan - not China. Much better perceivedquality. The size is just 4" x 2.375", and super thin. Required are two AAA batteries. I tested it, and it works. The foam ear pieces are a bit soft, and should be replaced if used rather than displayed. Instruction sheet and factory information included.
C. We sold many coffee mugs to AT&T, and here is a nice one. It is in Cobalt Blue with the AT&T Outside Plant Systems logo in white on both sides. It is 10 ounces, and a three finger "C" grip.
D. Here is an over-run sample of a useful lighted pop-up mirror. The mirror is in white with the logo in blue for a nice contrast. Two AAA batteries are required, and I tested it, and it works - of course. This was made in Hong Kong rather than China, and is gift boxed with instruction sheet.
E. Parker Pen Company was among my favorite suppliers for quality writing instruments. This version is the fine point marker in white with black and chrome trim. The two color AT&T logo prominently displayed. As it still containsthe original refill, if used rather than displayed, an replacement is needed - which are readilyavailable. gift packagedin theParker tuck end box of the day.
F. Playing cards were always a popular advertising item, and here is a very nice deck. The deck is in black and gold, with the AT&T logo stamped in gold. The deck is specially packaged in a gold display box, and proudly made in the U.S.A. by Gemaco.
Gemaco was and still is an industry leader in playing cards. An indication of their quality is that they supply cards to many casinos. The name is a derived from the original owners name - George Matteson Company / GEMACO. I knew George, and in fact, when he came to Atlanta we played tennis together. He was a fine gentleman, but sadly, George is no longer with us. But his name and company live on...
So here are a variety of unusual AT&T logoed gifts. As mentioned, none have ever been used, and in outstanding condition! How rare!
An excellent addition to anyone who worked at AT&T or collects old Bell System memorabilia. A very rare find for sure.
From a smoke-free, pet-free, climate controlled environment.Only $48.00 for everything !!!
