Description of item for sale: The 120+ year old Sacred Heart Parish church in Hoboken (Antwerp), Belgium closed several years ago and is currently slated for demolition. In April 2024 we purchased the furnishings with a goal of salvaging them and placing them in new homes in the USA. This impressive Gothic baptismal font is from Belgium and it dates to the very early 1900's. The base and bowl are black stone and the cover is copper. It is in very good antique condition with typical minor chips, nicks and scratches. Note that the cover has minor dents and small missing trim pieces (see photos). Also, the black stone bowls are stained lighter color (photos) from many years of use. When this font arrives here at our Oregon facility we will inspect, clean and wax as needed prior to shipping to you. Dimensions: 58" tall and 33" diameter.
