Southern Illinois9.5cm x 8cmCollected 6/16/1959Description: Blueish to white lustrous, bladed barite cover the face of a cabinet sized yellow/purple fluorite crystal. The fluorite is not perfect as the photos show, but the association, color contrast and old provenance make this a winning specimen!We purchased these antique Fluorite specimens in a collection many years ago from Dry Creek Minerals.
They are not perfect specimens but they are beautiful oldies, being collected during the 1950’s!
Jay mentioned they were collected by the Belden Family of Auburn, CA on one of their many trips to the mines. This specimen comes with its old, original Dry Creek Minerals label protected in a Glassine envelope.
