This real photo postcard features American actor, singer, vaudevillian, and song writer, Andrew Mack (1863-1931). The Boston native, Mack, began his stage career at about 13 years of age. He began by appearing in minstrel shows and in 1892, made his vaudeville debut. He composed songs that he sang in his act. His 1899 song \"The Story of the Rose (Heart of my Heart), became a barbershop quartet standard. Mack appeared in 12 Broadway shows between 1899 and 1930. The IMDb reports that Mack appeared in two films, \"The Ragged Earl\" (1914) and \"Bluebeard\'s Seven Wives\" (1925).This postcard was published by the Rotograph Company as part of a series (no.A150). The firm was located in New York City. The portrait photo was taken by the famous and talented celebrity photographer, Benjamin Falk. This postcard is in good condition (see scans).
