This set is a really wonderful group - there is a beautiful 1960\'s rosary, that has lots of wear to the faux pearl beads, from years of prayers and handling. The cross is a \"Stanhope\". Stanhope is the name of the person who invented a tiny lens for viewing small hidden messages, in the late 1800s. By the middle of the last century, \"Stanhopes\" had a big resurgence, and now are sought after by collectors, because they are so charming. This cross features lots of rhinestones, with the center being the little lens. When you hold it up to the light, you can read the entire Lord\'s Prayer inside. Cool, huh? The entire set - rosary and scapular, fit in a little black faux leather case with a snap closure. The little case just says MY ROSARY in faded gilt letters. The snap is nice and tight, and there are no tears to the viny.
The case measures 3\" by 2 1/8\".
The cross measures 1 1/2\".
The rosary measures 18\" from the back of the neck to the bottom of the cross. The oval pearl beads are 1/8\" long each and 3/8\" long. There is very little of the \"pearl\" coating left on the beads, and the silver tone metal has oxidized and shows wear.
The scapular measures 1 1/2\" by 1 1/8\" - lots of wear. There is a tiny little paper blessing inside the scapular, between the image and the outer case.
