This is a fascinating look at mission work among Alaskan Natives featured in the original and complete February 6, 1895 edition of THE CHRISTIAN HERALD MAGAZINE! The piece is ALASKAN CHILDREN: THE LITTLE FOLKS IN THAT ICY CLIME NO LONGER NEGLECTED--ESKIMOS AT SCHOOL. The image of AN ESKIMO GIRL--PUPIL OF THE FORT BARROW COOKING SCHOOL (drawn from a photo by Sheldon Jackson, whose philosophy is encapsulated in the article, which reads \"ONLY A FEW YEARS AGO, THE ESKIMO OF THAT GREAT TERRITORY WERE IGNORANT HEATHEN...\") Definitely a time-capsule here!
