Arthur W. Radford, Admiral, USN. WWII COMBAT COMMANDER IN THE PACIFIC AND CHAIRMAN OF THE JOINT CHIEFS OF STAFF. A typed letter signed, on his stationary, requesting an autograph, July 15, 1966. Perfect. A-2010 Radford: (1896- ). USNA (1916); Naval Aviator no. 2896 (1920); Under his command four Loening OL-8As made a San Diego-Alaska flight to participate in the second U. S. Navy aerial survey of Alaska Survey (1929); dir., aviation training, bureau of aeronautics (1941-43); WWII carrier Task Force commander who fought the Japanese in a series of amphibious operations (1943); chief of staff and aide to commander, air, Pacific ocean (1943-44); he headed air operations of TF-58 during the Marshall and Gilbert Islands campaigns; asst. deputy chief of naval operations for air (1945); served as Deputy Chief of Naval Operations (Air) (1946-47); Member of the NACA during the period 1946-47; he commanded the U. S. 2nd fleet (1947); vice chief of naval operations (1948); commander in chief, U. S. Pacific fleet (1949); chairman, joint chiefs of staff, the first naval officer to become Chairman of the Joint Chiefs (1953); Admiral A. W. Radford Field at NAS Cubi Point was named in his honor (1972); the USS Arthur W. Radford (DD-968) was named in his memory (1975). This is part of my personal collection of over 2500 aviation autographs dating from the very earliest days of aviation. The collection includes many, many air mail pilots, record holders, aviation personalities, military/naval aviators from 1914 through Vietnam, etc. Ill also be including about 1000 autographs from a group my mother and father collected during the late twenties, thirties and just before WWII. All are in excellent condition unless otherwise noted and all are authentic. A-2010Please check my response regarding fast and well-packed shipments. The items I'm selling on are from my own collection that I've been selling since my May, 2000retirement.
All autographs will be mailed by First Class Mail with Delivery Confirmation. Larger items will be mailed by appropriate USPS mailing. Tracking numbers are available on all shipments.I accept PayPal and adhere to their requirements that all PayPal orders be mailed with online tracking and only to confirmed addresses. Autographs are weatherproofed and mailed in heavily reinforced padded envelopes with stiff corrugated! I guarantee all the items in my collection to be authentic. I will pay the return postage on any item that is found not to be authentic. If you decide you want to return the item for any other reason I'll be happy to accept the return but must deduct my listing and final valuation costs. All returns must of course be in the condition in which they were mailed.
No matter how many photos or autographs you order (assuming they'll all fit in one 9.5 X 13 envelope) you'll only pay the P&H for one.
