In a note from the author he says:
“During two months in the early summer of 1999 I coloured the 50 emblems and used these as the basis for an audio visual presentation of the Atalanta Fugiens images with the music programmed for a Yamaha SY77 synthesizer. For this present book I have used my coloured version of the emblems and include a CD-ROM with the audio visual presentation.”
As can be seen from the facsimile of the original title-page, Michael Maier first published this alchemical master work in 1618. It consists of 50 allegorical alchemical emblems with what were originally Latin epigrams (here translated into English).
