ABP Cut BRILLIANT Glass Egginton CRESWICK 7\" Ice Cream Plate ca. 1906, SIGNEDBeautiful shallow ice cream plate from the American Brilliant Period of cut glass!
This plate measures 7\" wide, and was produced by the O.F. Egginton Company of Corning, New York, USA. This company was in business from 1896 until 1918.
The pattern that this plate is cut in, \"Creswick\", is one of Egginton\'s earliest patterns and is shown in the 1906 catalog (image provided above, from the reprint of the original catalog issued by the ACGA (American Cut Glass Association).This plate has Egginton\'s hallmark - a star inside a crescent moon motif with the name printed in block letters - acid etched on the center of the plate. You\'ll have to hold the plate at an angle in direct lighting in order to see it.
Under UV light, this piece displays a pale green color, indicative of American Brilliant Period Cut Glass.
No major chips, cracks, or damage. You will find a couple of tiny flake chips on 2 teeth, typical of this type of glass.
Wonderful piece of antique glassware, perfect to add to your collection.
