MARKET SQUARE ARENA

Market Square Arena, once a significant fixture in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, was an indoor sports and entertainment venue that held a special place in the city\'s history. The most notable tenant of Market Square Arena was the Indiana Pacers, a professional basketball team in the American Basketball Association (ABA) and later in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The arena served as the Pacers\' home court during a critical period in the franchise\'s history, when the team transitioned from the ABA to the NBA in 1976. The Pacers\' presence brought significant attention to Market Square Arena, with the team\'s memorable games and fan-favorite players like Reggie Miller, George McGinnis, and Mel Daniels creating a vibrant basketball culture in Indianapolis.

Beyond basketball, Market Square Arena was a multi-purpose venue that hosted other sporting events, including indoor soccer and minor league hockey.
