This vintage 5"x7" photo captures a moment in the History of Women's Baseball in the United States.
The pic shows Connie Wisnewski, standing tall in the middle of top row. Wisnewski played in the AAGPBL from 1944 to 1952. Won two championships and was named to the All-star Team four times.
Connie was voted by the League to be All-Star Player of the Year for the 1945 season. The Ace Pitcher for the Grand Rapids Chicks set numerous League pitching records and later switched to play outfield, excelled at fielding and coming in at 3rd for the Batting Title behind Betty Foss and Dottie Kamenshek. Connie was a super elite athlete in the AAGPBL Connie and her Grand Rapids Chicks teammates won the League Championship in 1944 with the Milwaukee Chicks and again in 1947 with Grand Rapids. Wisnewski was a Champion among Champions.
