An exceptionally clean copy of the scarce two volume 1929 monograph on the work of famed 20th Century St. Louis architects, Maritz and Young. With 144 plates spread across both volumes, after photographs by Leroy S. Robbins (b.1904), a St. Louis-born commercial photographer who later relocated to Los Angeles and found acclaim as a still photographer for motion pictures and in the Federal Arts Project (FAP) in Southern California alongside Edward Weston, Brett Weston, Chandler Weston, Sonya Noskowiak, Nacho Bravo, Sybil Anikeyev and Hy Hirsch.

Gilt titles to fronts Volumes unpaginated, each with 72 halftone plates from photographs. Trace remnant of original, now perished, glassine dust wrappers affixed to the rear of Volume One, the tracest bit of foxing to page edges, otherwise uncommonly bright, clean and sound.
