7x COMPLETE Vtg 1940s Tru-Vue 100 series 3D Stereoviews Zoo Animal London Bronx have been collecting 3D media for the last 30 years and finally decided it\'s time to part ways with some of my favoritethings.
This is a rare complete set of all seven vintage Tru-Vue film strip reels of 3D pictures in the 100 series Tru-Vue Set. Due to a recent acquisition, I have several sets of these that are all of the same quality, so the ones you get may look slightly different, but I guarantee you will be happy.
This complete set of the 100 seriesis all comprised of zoos, zoo animals, and birds all seen in magnificent 3D!All film strips are in matching red & silver boxes. Each film strip reel contains 14 different 3D stereo images for viewing within aTru-Vue viewer stereoscope (not included). See these historic stereoscopic views from 75+ years ago in wonderful 3D! Todaythese reels are very interesting stuff, and all in eye-popping 3D! A complete set of all 100 series Tru-Vues don\'t show up in nicesets like this, leaving collectors to find each film strip one at a time. While all are interesting, the two part London Zoo is myfavorite (please read more about this below) Don\'t miss your chance to pick these up at a great price!
This lot includes:#101 Animals of the World#102 New York Aquarium#103 Birds From Everywhere#104 The Bronx News#105 Brookfield News#106 London Zoo - 1#107 London Zoo - 2
Condition:The film strip reels... are all in excellent condition and all are in their original red and silver boxes! I have personally gone througheach film strip reel with white gloves on and inspected every frame and every film cog. All are perfect guaranteed! I wouldsuggest when viewing these rare films (and all other Tru-Vue films), to pull them slowly through the viewer rather than using theadvance lever. This is how the cogs get torn.
All of the boxes... have a very slight bit of shelf wear as to be expected as can be seen in my photos. All flaps are present andthere are no tears or crushes anywhere on any of the boxes. I have tried my best to photograph every aspect of the boxes andfilm strips. Please check my pictures out and if you have any questions, please email! Packaging on these will be very secure!
Thanks for looking!

About The London Zoo from Wikipedia:London Zoo is the world\'s oldest scientific zoo. It was opened in London on 27 April 1828, andwas originally intended to be used as a collection for scientific study. In 1831 or 1832 the animalsof the Tower of London menagerie were transferred to the zoo\'s collection. It was eventuallyopened to the public in 1847. Today it houses a collection of 698 species of animals, with 20,166individuals, making it one of the largest collections in the United Kingdom. The zoo is sometimescalled Regent\'s Zoo.
It is managed under the aegis of the Zoological Society of London (established in 1826), and issituated at the northern edge of Regent\'s Park, on the boundary line between the City ofWestminster and the borough of Camden (the Regent\'s Canal runs through it). The Society alsohas a more spacious site at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo in Bedfordshire to which the larger animals suchas elephants and rhinos have been moved. As well as being the first scientific zoo, ZSL LondonZoo also opened the first Reptile house (1849), first public Aquarium (1853), first insect house(1881) and the first children\'s zoo (1938).ZSL receives no state funding and relies on \'Fellows\' and \'Friends\' memberships, entrance feesand sponsorship to generate income.
London Zoo during World War II:During World War II bombings, the London Zoo was closed multiple times for over a week at atime starting 11:00 AM on 3 September 1939, when all Zoological Places were closed by order ofthe Government. On 27 September 1940, high explosive bombs damaged the Rodent house, theCivet house, the gardener\'s office, the propagating sheds, the North Gate and the Zebra house.
Later, in January 1941, the Camel House was also hit, and during World War II the aquariumcould not open until May 1943 due to extensive bombings. Fortunately, no animals were harmedduring the incidents, although a zebra, a female ass, and her foal escaped from the zoo during thebombings.
For safety reasons, all venomous animals were killed at the London Zoo during World War II.
Wounded men were reportedly let into the London Zoo for free during World War II.
About Tru-Vue from the UK Viewmaster website:TRU-VUE Inc., Rock Island, Illinois USA manufactured the viewers and over 400 different 3D film reels. The company wasfounded in 1931 and after the 1933 \"Century of Progress Exposition\" in Chicago grew and flourished through the 1930\'sand 40\'s. The original viewers used 35mm filmstrips, generally containing 14 stereo views, which were pulled through theviewer using a lever (visible at the bottom of the left-hand photograph below). In 1949 Tru-Vue sold over a million reels offilm!. The quality of the 3D presented is generally very good, although the films need to be handled carefully. Film-strips andviewers were made between 1933 and 1952. Ultimately the Tru-Vue company was acquired by Sawyers View-Master in1952, who wanted the rights to Disney licences held by the company.
