For your consideration is a group of 6 triceratops tooth portions known as spitters from a Triceratops dinosaur from the Cretaceous Hell Creek deposits of south eastern Montana.The tooth fragments are broken off of teeth during chewing the coarse vegetation that comprised the Triceratops diet.The fragments are spit out by the animal to avoid damaging additional teeth.The longest tooth in this group is about an inch in overall length.The shortest is just over half an inch in length. There is a chance that one of the smaller pieces is from a hadrosaur, but it is difficult to identify positively. They were collected from a ranch location in south eastern Montana with the land owner’s permission.
