6.25x3.5 inch Grallator dinosaur track footprint, Connecticut River Valley (Massachusetts). Early Jurassic. Overall size 9x5.25, 1 inch thick, weighing five pounds, two ounces.
Grallator is a genus that is represented by only footprints. This track was made by a medium-sized, bipedal, carnivorous, theropod dinosaur similar to a Coelophysis. This particular dinosaur probably reached six feet. This track comes from a private quarry in the Connecticut River Valley (Massachusetts). The stride of the walkways show that this type of dinosaur was probably the fastest dinosaur in the Connecticut River valley. They may have attained speeds of up to 20 miles per hour. It was a carnivore and reproduced by laying eggs. It was most likely solitary since Grallator trackways are usually those of a single animal. Free plastic stand included. In very good condition.
