The blade itself is T10 carbon steel. It could use a light polish, but I will give it a good polish before I send it out. The Saya is made of solid poplar and has been primed and coated with 2X black gloss and covered with a thick coat of industrial strength clear epoxy. It is very, very solid. Built to last.
