Ellensburg blue is an extremely rare gemstone found in Kittias County, WA. It is claimed by Forbes Magazine to be the third rarest gemstone on earth. While I do not know for sure if this is true, my own difficulties finding and obtaining this gemstone tell me it is far rarer, even in this region, than other types of agate.
